How to Access the Chats
Go to the
IndexStudents page at Yahoo! Groups. On the left navigation panel,
you should see the option for "Chat." You will need to visit the site
before the chat to download the Chat Module. This is a quick procedure.
In addition, you will need a Yahoo ID (Yahoo Profile) in order to participate.
If you do not have a Yahoo ID, you will be directed how to obtain one
when you try to access the web features.
Preparing to Participate in the Chats
You should be familiar with the topic being discussed in order to prepare some questions
for our guests. I would suggest that you email questions to me
the week before the discussion (please use the subject line: CHAT). I will forward these on to our guests so they might
be prepared with some material to answer your questions. This is especially true if you
have a complicated or technical question.
There is no guarantee that your question will be answered during the discussion,
as it is strictly limited to one hour. There is no guarantee that your question, if forwarded
to the guest, will be answered. The guest and the moderator maintain control of the agenda
of the discussion. The guest or moderator may determine that a question is too complicated
for the chat format, and refrain from answering.
